The Safe Family Travel enforcment blitzs, which is being conducted by various law enforcement agencies through the State of Indiana will continue through November 29, 2013. This saturation patrol is being funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Officers will be putting in thousands of hours of overtime during this saturation patrol.
Thanksgiving is a time for celebration with family and friends. Beer, Wine and Liquor are often a part of the celebration. Please celebrate with your family and friends, but please be safe. With these increased patrols, I anticipate seeing an increased number of traffic citations (failure to wear a seatbelt, speeding) and arrests for Drunk Driving (DUI/OWI), Driving While Suspended and Reckless Driving.
